More About Katie

Katie is a community advocate, outspoken storyteller and writer who weaves joy and grief into everyday moments. She is the mother of five children: twins Wally and Kenzie; son Woodsy; baby girl Millie; and Lochlan, her first son, who passed away when he was 22 days old.

With the birth of her daughter Kenzie, Katie and her family also welcomed a beautiful shift into the world of Down Syndrome, and more recently, Kenzie received a dual diagnosis of Autism, revealing her full, vibrant self. For Katie and her family, advocacy is a love language.

Katie is a founder and board member of Down Syndrome BC, is the co-creator of an adaptive soccer program in Vancouver, and has a loyal following on social media, who have fallen in love with a little girl and her family.
